about the author

Since Sophie von Plomgren could talk, she has been a singer/songwriter, but she has been composing formally on piano and guitar since the age of 13. She has acquired an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree and recorded three self-composed albums. She has also obtained a Forensic Science degree, majoring in forensic psychology at Western Sydney University where she remains an advocate for the university featuring on their website, buses and promotions for reasons why forensic science is a fundamental field for society and life. Sophie has almost finished her Juris Doctorate in Law from University of Technology, Sydney. She has composed music for various charities including Beyond Blue Australia where her song “Beyond the Blue” was featured on their website. She has also worked with children’s charities, the Teddy Bear’s Picnic and a Tsunami Relief concert entitled “Raise the Roof” where she composed a song for a family friend Carl Axel von Platen who sadly perished in the Indian Ocean Tsunami tragedy in 2004. Sophie was working as a transcriptionist for the Australian courts of Law and Police. She believes working for the criminal justice system can be an emotionally exhausting experience. It’s for this reason Sophie loves to write, compose, record music, and write books with illustrations which can assist in developing a child’s reading skills, musicality, knowledge, and imagination in her spare time. Her collection of books with songs and illustrations include ‘Keep Our Animals Safe’, ‘Blackbird’, ‘If I Was A Mermaid’, ‘Oh Africa’, ‘Do You Believe In Magic?’, ‘Lucy Love’, ‘Lucy Lullaby’, ‘B-E-A-U-T-(WH)-Y?’, ‘When I’m In Sweden’, ‘I’m In Amsterdam’, ‘Iceland, I Love You!’, ‘Australia’, ‘Lonely London Day’, ‘The Indian Elephant’, ‘Santa Lucia’s Christmas’, ‘Einstein’, ‘Anne Frank’, ‘Nelson Mandela’ and ‘Amelia Earhart’. Sophie hopes that children and adults with an imagination and a heart enjoy reading and listening to her books as much as she loves writing them. Please find the song to ‘Keep Our Animals Safe’ called ‘A Little Faith’ here: https://sofiasound.com.au/product/song-a-little-faith/Please find all of Sophie’s music and collection of stories here: www.sofiasound.com.au

about the book

Keep Our Animals Safe is a story about several children, adults, and their animals. It is a book which promotes animal welfare to children and the responsibilities that come with owning a pet. The book also promotes the importance of mother nature, practicing good environmentalism and protecting this beautiful world we have been given. The story includes several interesting facts about animals and a song about animal protection which the author has composed and hidden the lyrics to amongst the animals in the book. It is a fun way for children to learn about the importance of loving animals whilst learning to read and even sing at the same time. The colourful illustrations will keep your children entertained whilst promoting just how beautiful animals are. Please find the song to this book called ‘A Little Faith’ here:https://sofiasound.com.au/product/song-a-little-faith/And Sophie’s personal collection of music and stories here:www.SofiaSound.com.au
